AI Can't Be Your Therapist

R2D2 and C3PO are great robot companions, but neither are equipped to walk you through the complexities of being human. AI isn't either.

Look, we all love R2D2 and C3PO, but we're not going to unpack our human struggles with them. (Droid and spaceship struggles are a different story.)

Therapy is about human connection. It's about connecting with your human therapist in your session, yes, but it goes far beyond that. You're deepening your connection with yourself and with the people in your life.

So beyond an AI's lack of human lived experience, true professional training, and ethical standards, it's literally not a human that can walk with you through this very human journey.

When your AI therapist tries to empathize, it... literally cannot. It is not human. Unlike a real therapist.

Maybe we can work on helping there be more real (human) therapists? And improve access to them? Support the helpers and support those seeking help? I know that's not as enticing to VC investors, but... most human-first initiatives typically aren't.
