As of today, Quill officially supports BIRP notes! A user or two had requested BIRP notes, so we added this new note format to complement our existing SOAP, DAP, and PIRP notes.
What is BIRP?
Obviously it's an acronym and not something you do when you drink too much soda.
- Behavior: Detail the client's behavior or the primary concern observed.
- Intervention: Explain the actions or interventions taken by the therapist.
- Response: Record the client's reaction or response to the intervention.
- Plan: Outline the next steps or future actions planned for the client.
This structured approach keeps your documentation clear and comprehensive.
How to Switch to BIRP Notes
Log into your Quill account and you can start using BIRP notes today! If this is your first time creating a note, you can choose BIRP as your preferred format. If you have previously selected another note type, go to "My Account" and update your preferred note type to BIRP.
Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we’re committed to supporting your needs. So keep the suggestions coming!
