Battling Depression

Client had a 40-minute phone session today. She reported feeling depressed and unmotivated, indicating that tasks such as getting out of bed have become challenging. Client mentioned a loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities and a sense of disconnection from her friends. She described her emotional state, saying, "It’s like I’m stuck in a dark hole and can’t find a way out." The therapist and client discussed the symptoms of depression and emphasized the significance of self-compassion. A small goal was established for the client to take a short walk daily. Additionally, the client was assigned to journal her feelings and any changes she observes as homework. Although she sounded a bit hesitant, the client agreed to the plan. The next session is scheduled for next week.
