Fear of Public Speaking

Subjective:
Client discussed his fear of public speaking and his upcoming work presentation, which he feels extremely anxious about. Client described experiencing sweating and shaking when anticipating public speaking. Client stated, "The thought of standing in front of a crowd makes me panic."

Objective:
Duration of the session was 50 minutes. Interventions applied included discussing exposure therapy and gradual desensitization techniques. Client appeared nervous but receptive to treatment suggestions.

Assessment:
Client is experiencing significant anxiety in relation to public speaking. The use of exposure therapy and gradual desensitization was recommended to address his phobia.

Plan:
Homework for the client is to practice speaking in front of a mirror and then to a small supportive audience. Progress will be evaluated in the next session scheduled for two weeks from today.
